Perin Malde has been putting in steady efforts over the years, slowly building his place in the industry and making his own identity through regular auditions and roles. He is best known for his role as Luv in the Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee show Ramayan. He was recently seen in Bhooth Bangla alongside Akshay Kumar, and in a recent conversation, he spoke about how his journey started back when he was still a child artist and how things have changed for him since then.
Perin talked about how far he has come and how the experience has been both funny and eye-opening. He has seen how much the industry has changed over the years. He said, “Going from a child actor to where I am today, it has actually been quite a journey already. I have seen different versions of this industry.”
Recalling his early days, Perin spoke about how auditions used to work when he first started out. From expensive portfolios to handwritten contact details, everything was very different back then. He explained, “I remember back in the day, the entire auditioning process was so different. Everybody used to get these portfolios made, which was almost a compulsion. You had to mention your name and number behind your pictures and submit them to casting offices, and if they find you interesting, they’ll call you.”
He further added that auditions were conducted in casting offices, often recorded on handycams, with very limited chances to retake scenes. Now, according to him, the process has completely shifted to a digital space. Perin added, “Now, everything literally happens on mobile phones. You get scripts on WhatsApp, casting folks reach out to you directly, and you can just send self-tapes from wherever you are.”
Sharing his thoughts, he also pointed out how the industry has evolved with time, making things faster but very different from the old-school process.
Looking ahead, Perin Malde seems focused on building his journey further after his appearance in Bhooth Bangla, as he continues to explore more opportunities in films and digital projects.
