Ranveer Singh is currently one of the biggest superstars of the modern generation and Bollywood’s modern-day ‘Baba’ after Sanjay Dutt is extremely loved by one and all. Ranveer Singh is probably the only star in the last 6 to 7 years who hasn’t had a movie bombing badly at the box office.
You just name it and the list keeps getting better. Ramleela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat, Dil Dhadakne Do, Befikre, Simmba and a lot more, all these have been huge blockbusters at the cinemas. Ranveer started his Bollywood journey on a humble note in YRF’s Band Baaja Baarat in 2010 opposite Anushka Sharma and not many would have wondered by then that ‘Bittu Sharma’ would be such a huge star ten years down the line.
But what was the biggest reason why Ranveer worked? Well, the mantra to his success is none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Till 2013, Ranveer was doing good movies but it was only after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela did people start taking Ranveer seriously. After the success, Bhansali gave him another chance with Bajirao Mastani and Ranveer proved his mettle there as well. And then came the ultimate Padmavat where Ranveer’s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji won him several accolades.
Of course, we aren’t denying that it is Ranveer’s hard work and grit that made him the superstar which he is today but one needs to note that out of 6 of his biggest movies, three have come from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and hence it won’t at all be wrong to brand Sanjay Leela Bhansali as one of the biggest reasons behind Ranveer’s success today.
