Taapsee Pannu is one of the leading ladies of Bollywood. But before stepping into Hindi Film Industry, she already had a successful career in South Cinema. The actress has done a dozen films before her debut in Bollywood with the 2013 release Chashme Baddoor. The actor Rishi Kapoor worked with her in the comedy film. He was impressed with her career graph in South Cinema and called her a veteran.

Taapsee Pannu made her debut with 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. And after which, she did several more Tamil films, including Mr Perfect with Actor Prabhas.

While in an interview with Filmfare, Taapsee shared her experience as a fresher in Bollywood, “When I came to Bollywood nine years ago, when Chashme Badoor was released, I was told that you have to wipe off the fact that you are from the South because people will start looking at you like a South Indian actress. I was like, “Yaar maine itni mehnat kari hai shape, why is it not looked at as an asset?” I’d done some credible work, and on top of that, I’d worked with some really good and credible names there.”

And the actress further added that “I remember on the sets of Chashme Badoor, Rishi Kapoor sir asked me once, ‘So how many films have you done in the South?’ I said 10, and I am working on the 11th one. And by the time Chashme Badoor was released, I had 12 South films out. And he was like, ‘Arre tu to veteran hai!’ So he was shocked to know I had done this much work.”

Taapsee was recognized for her small role in 2015 Baby. And later, her character gained her independent film Naam Shabana. And she made it big with her later release of Pink. The actress has given many remarkable films, such as Milk, Manmarziyaan, Saand Ki Ankh, Thappad, and Haseen Dilruba. She will be seen today in Mithali Raj’s biopic Shabaash Mithu.
