Bollywood’s beloved Badshah Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t had a release for more than a year now. King Khan, as he is popularly called might be the biggest superstar of the country at the moment but fortune hasn’t really favoured him at the box office ever since Dilwale. In fact, one can arguably say that his last critical, as well as commercial success, was way back in 2013 with Chennai Express.
Since then, movies like Happy New Year, Dilwale, Raees, and Zero did earn its share of initial riches at the box office but soon fizzled due to bad word of mouth. That’s the biggest reason why a creative artiste like SRK has taken a halt from movies. Speculations have been there time and again about various new projects of his. From rumors of him finally saying yes to Madhur Bhandarkar’s sand mafia thriller to him working with Anand L Rai again, we have heard it all but with time Shah Rukh Khan has dismissed them as baseless.
So what exactly is King Khan doing at the moment? Well, to be precise, ever since the COVID-19 lockdown, King Khan has been living and spending time with his family in Mannat. From trying out new gadgets to playing with his little Abram Khan, he’s doing it all. Grapevine has it that Shah Rukh Khan is now set to start his next with Rajkumar Hirani soon but once again, there’s no confirmation on the same.
So ladies and gentlemen, it’s only a matter of time when we get to see our favourite SRK setting the 75mm screen on fire once again. Till then, all we can do is play the waiting game.
