Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in the movie ‘Bucket List’ in 2018. Now, he is returning to the big screen after four years with ‘Shamshera’. Ranbir stars opposite Vaani Kapoor in this movie. He will be playing a double role for the first time in this film. The movie is directed by Karan Johar and Ranbir will be essaying the roles of Shamshera and Balli in the movie. The actors have started the promotions of the movie in full swing. Vaani Kapoor dropped some lovely photos along with Ranbir Kapoor on her Instagram account.
The actress took to Instagram to share pictures of the reel couple. Vaani is seen wearing a black co-ord set covered with a net. She has paired it with long white earrings. Ranbir looks smoking hot in this red open suit where he is showing off his bare body. Indeed, these photos of the on-screen Jodi are breaking the internet.
She captioned the photos, “Balli & Sona. Shamshera releasing in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. Celebrate #Shamshera with #YRF50 only at a theatre near you on 22nd July”.
Meanwhile, the movie Shamshera is based on a true story. When Ranbir Kapoor was asked about this in a 2018 interview, he said, “Shamshera is not a story of a ‘daaku’, but a film based in the 1800s, it is about a dacoit tribe who are fighting for their right and independence from the British. There was a great story of heroism, a story rooted in our country which actually happened back then. It is a departure from the kind of films I have done, it is not the coming-of-age lover boy roles that I have done often. Shamshera is in the aspirational space, the space of the true commercial cinema.”
The movie will be out in theatres on 22nd July 2022. On the other hand, Ranbir is also gearing up for his next big release this year, ‘Brahmastra’ in which he stars opposite his wife Alia Bhatt. Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor was last seen in the 2021 movies Bell Bottom’ and ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’.
