Rohit Shetty, the name needs no introduction now. One of the well-known mainstream commercial moviemakers that he is; his recent film Sooryavanshi that promises to treat the audience with full-fledged action, has gone a blockbuster hit. However, it is said, that the director is one of the most expensive in the industry, who charges 25 to 30 crores per film.

However, saying that recently Rohit revealed the first-ever salary that he earned, was Rs 35 only. He used to travel Malad to Andheri, approx 2hours to work, and some days were there when he had to choose between food and travel.

He said, “It was not an easy journey actually. People think that since I’m from the film industry it must have been easy for me. When I started working, I used to get just ₹35. Many times it happened that I had to choose between food and travel. Sometimes I had to miss food and sometimes travel. I also started walking on the set.”

He added, “I used to walk from Malad to Andheri, many times. It used to take me one and a half, two hours in the sun. I know the lanes so now when I tell my driver ‘Take this route, not that’, he looks at me in the rearview mirror ‘How does he know, was he a thief before?’,” as quoted in Bollywood life
