What’s next? Jennifer Lawrence has kept her pregnancy a secret for the most part, but she has decided to show off her baby belly on rare occasions.

Two years after marrying in Rhode Island, the Kentucky native and her husband, Cooke Maroney, announced that they are expecting their first child in September 2021.

In November 2021, the Oscar winner told Vanity Fair that she planned to keep her and the gallerist’s child’s lives private.

“I wouldn’t say, ‘God, I can’t talk about that,’ if I was at a dinner party and someone said, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby.’ ‘Get away from me, you psycho!’ said the star of Don’t Look Up at the time to the magazine. “However, every instinct in my body tells me that I should preserve their privacy as much as possible for the rest of their lives.” “I don’t want anyone to think they’re welcome in their world. And I believe it begins with my decision to exclude them from this aspect of my profession.”

The following month, when she revealed her growing belly in a gold Dior gown, she told Entertainment Tonight that she doesn’t “know” which part of parenthood she’s most looking forward to, adding, “I’m just going to have to find out.”

The actress also kept her relationship with Maroney a secret. The couple started dating in 2018, and in February of the following year, the Vermont native proposed.

Lawrence gushed to Catt Sadler in a June 2019 podcast episode, “He’s the best human being I’ve ever met.” “He is, and he is improving.” “I’m not sure… this is The One. I know that seems ridiculous, but he’s simply the most amazing person I’ve ever met, and I’m honored to be a Maroney. I wasn’t in a position where I could say, “I’m ready to get married.” “Cooke was the first man I met and I immediately wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry, we wanted to truly commit, and he’s my best friend, therefore I want to legally bind him to me for the rest of our lives.”
