Anil Kapoor is an Indian actor and producer who has starred in more than 110 Hindi films as well as international films and television programmes. As an actor, he has been in the business for about 40 years, and as a producer since 2005.

Kapoor was born in Mumbai to film producer Surinder Kapoor and made his cinematic debut in Umesh Mehra’s romantic comedy Hamare Tumhare (1979). He made his acting debut in the 1980 Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham, directed by Bapu. His Hindi debut was meant to be with Kahan Kahan Se Guzar Gaya, but the film was postponed.
