In the comedy-thriller Govinda Naam Mera, broadcast on Disney+ Hotstar in 2022, Kaushal starred as the title character, a backup dancer and struggling choreographer accused of murder. Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar also appeared in the film.

The Times Of India noted that Kaushal is “excellent in a never-seen avatar that is reminiscent of a typical masaledar 90s Bollywood hero” and praised him for giving his role “the proper amount of energy and comic timing” in a review that gave the movie a mixed rating.

On three upcoming projects, he has finished the work. First, he will appear in the upcoming unnamed film by Laxman Utekar, which also stars Sara Ali Khan. Along with those, he has finished the untitled movie from filmmaker Anand Tiwari, in which Tripti Dimri also stars, and the family movie The Great Indian Family from director Vijay Krishna Acharya, in which he co-stars with Manushi Chhillar.

Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Kaushal will all appear in a small part in Rajkumar Hirani’s immigration drama Dunki. Furthermore, he will appear in Sam Bahadur, a biopic about the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, in his second collaboration with Meghna Gulzar.
