One such event happened when a reporter asked her about her pregnancy during an open event of her movie. Reacting to this, reports in Koimoi and The Free Press Journal suggest that Deepika was quoted saying,
“Do I look pregnant? I will ask you when I will plan (to have a family). If you give me permission then I will plan. If I become pregnant then you will see that in nine months.”
