Will Smith is one of the well-known names of Hollywood. The actor had been struggling back in 1990 with his career. NBC television network got the actor signed to a contract and created the sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. This show is what kickstarted his career in acting. The actor has made quite an impact in the industry since then. He has worked in quite a few blockbusters and has received many accolades for his roles as well!

While his acting career took off back in 1990, the actor seemed to have been struggling with something in his personal life. The actor revealed some details about his teenage life and how it shaped him as a person later.

The actor revealed that he was 16 when he got his first serious girlfriend. He was quite invested in the relationship and was quite heartbroken when the thing fell apart. As per a Glam Sham report, the actor was dating a beautiful girl named ‘Melanie’ back then. While on tour she had been unfaithful to him. The two broke up, but Will Smith seemed to have trouble moving on from it.

As per the same reports, the actor had mentioned the incident in his memoir. He wrote, “I desperately need relief but there is no pill for heartbreak.” He added that he resorted to ‘homeopathic remedies’ of shopping and sleeping with people. However, it just left him feeling more troubled.

The actor had felt quite disgusted with his actions. It reached such a point that the actor developed a psychosomatic reaction to sleeping with women, where he would gag and sometimes even vomit.

He said, “In every case, though, I hoped to God this beautiful stranger would be ‘the one who would love me, who would make this pain go away. But invariably, there I was, retching and wretched. And the look in the eyes of the women even further deepened my agony.”

In his memoir, he even mentioned that in the early stages of his relationship with Jada, he would think he would satisfy her or ‘die trying’.
