One word/line to describe yourself will be:

She came, she saw, she conquered.

What’s a skill you think women are just naturally better at?

One skill women are naturally better at is reading the room. The minute they step into a room, they pick up the vibe, understand what’s happening, and are highly attuned to others and their moods. So I think reading the room is one skill women are very good at.

If you could have a virtual coffee with any famous woman, who would it be?

If I could have a virtual conversation with any woman at a coffee table, in India, it would definitely be Smriti Irani, and in Hollywood, it would be Oprah Winfrey. Both are extremely inspiring and extremely intelligent women who have created their own empires, and I am highly motivated by their work.

Who is the woman who is currently killing it in her field?

There are so many incredible, inspiring women out there. I have a huge list. I’m going to just name some right now. When it comes to production, producers, and creators, it’s Guneet Monga and Ekta Kapoor. For directors, it’s Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. When it comes to senior actors, it’s Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Bharti Achrekar. When it comes to entrepreneurs-come-entertainers, it is Riz With The Spoon and what she’s doing in LA with her book club and her production work. When it comes to overall badass behaviour, it’s Priyanka Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, and Mindy Kaling. The list is amazingly long, but I also want to include myself in this list because I think I’m doing some incredible work within my space, too. So I cannot deny that.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received from another woman?

The best compliment I have ever received from somebody is that I am enabling other women to achieve their dreams through my vision, and that I am encouraging other women to go out there and do what they are best at. That is something people have come to me and told me, and it is amazing to hear that.

Your inspiring line to young girls will be

My message to young girls out there is to dream big, have faith, never listen to a “no,” and if you can’t get a chair at somebody else’s table, make your own table.
