We all got to know Yami Gautam from the movie Vicky Donor where she starred along with Ayushman Khurrana. The film got immense love from the netizens over time, and now Yami is one of the most loved actresses in the country. The actress recently earned love with her work in the film A Thursday.

However, while we have enjoyed her movies to the core every time, she now has revealed that there have been choices that weren’t the best for her.

She said, “I have evolved a lot as a professional. I have understood ‘what’s going to work for me’ versus ‘I need to or should do this because that is what works’. Also, the opportunities are different, and my own perspective too”

The actress revealed several pieces of advice she received over the course of her career, saying, “I came with a very substantial perspective, that’s why I started my career with Vicky Donor (2012). It’s not possible then that your career will not see those dips and lows, what’s not working for you. I reached a point where I am firm about the idea that no matter what kind of film it is, I need something really substantial to do. I am not using the word stronger, but substantial, it has to have substance in it. That’s what will take you ahead in the longer run,”

Adding on that some of her choices weren’t the best all the time, she said, “But even at that time, maybe those were the best opportunities I got, I chose the best out of those. It seemed to be not correct, even then I was aware this is not something where my heart belongs, or what I have come to do in the industry. I will respect those people for giving me work at that time, it was still working at the end of the day,” as quoted by Hindustan Times.
