Baby Do Die Do, this film’s title itself got me intrigued to watch it, and it may leave you puzzled at first, but as the story unfolds, everything gradually falls into place. It may seem like a predictable tale, but the film offers more than viewers expect. Just as captivating as its name, the thriller delivers a gripping blend of revenge, drama, romance, humor, and neo-noir elements—making it a worthy watch.
The story follows Baby Karmarkar, played by Huma Qureshi, one of the twin sisters who sneak into a five-star hotel, but their otherwise fun experience turns horrific when a murder occurs. And the victim was no one else but Baby’s twin sister, and this incident sets the stage for the drama ahead.
Baby Karmarkar is a deaf and mute woman who turns deadly with her sister’s murder. With the pulse of revenge in her mind, she hunts for the killer, all prepared to end their chapter, which gets her into the world of killings, violence, and everything deadly. Well, the story isn’t just about the intense killings and action, but it gradually explores romance as Baby discovers love, which makes her realize what she has become and what her life looks like.

The story may seem predictable, but director Nachiket Samant, instead of trying to grip viewers with harsher elements, takes the route back in time, exploring the classic Bollywood noir with dominating characters, villains, humor, love, and the lethal umbrella, surprising the viewers. Cinematography is top-notch, detailing the world of crime, dark themes, and slow motion. The most impressive scenes were those shot in the rain.
What a mind-blowing performer! This is what I can say about Huma Qureshi. Undoubtedly, she is hailed as one of the finest actors in today’s time. This one is really a difficult role with the actress having no dialogues, but it was her expressions that did the talking from anger, frustration, fear and love—just a treat to watch. The actress held her character with confidence, whether showcasing her punches, kicks, or her smartness, she nails it every time. Not to forget to mention, her character’s authenticity was such that she wore literally no makeup, and we can all see that clearly.

Rachit Singh commands attention as Baby’s love interest Siddhu. Sikandar Kher impresses as the antagonist, while Chunky Pandey is a surprise with his meaty role of a man who operates contract killings. Seema Pahwa as DCP Anjum is smart, while actors like Vidya Malvade, Marudhar Shekhawat, and others significantly added to the overall narrative.
Packed with unexpected twists, engaging storytelling, and revenge drama, Baby Do Die Do hooks viewers from start to finish, making the film an entertaining and memorable cinematic experience.
