Dhurandhar – The Revenge has created history. The film is now officially the HIGHEST GROSSER EVER in Indian cinema when it comes to collections from just a single language. Though there have been pan-India films like Pushpa 2, Baahubali – The Conclusion, KGF – Chapter 2 and RRR which have collected huge across languages, when it comes to a single language the record was created just a few weeks by Dhurandhar.

First part of the epic affair by Aditya Dhar had netted 896 crores in its lifetime run before it went on a rampage on OTT. It was a foregone conclusion that as and when the second part will arrive, it will set the record for the best opening day, opening weekend and opening week. However when it comes to lifetime number, it was always going to boil down to how the actual content will work with the audience.

Well, as can be seen, the film has been appreciated even more in the second instalment with multiple twists and layers of the Ranveer Singh led ensemble affair being hailed by one and all. As a result, collections in the second week were magnificent as well with 251 crores coming in just the Hindi version. Add this to the extended first week total (including paid previews) of 649 crores and we have a mindblowing total of 900 crores here.

In the process, it has now left behind Dhurandhar lifetime (896 crores) and to think of it, there is so much steam still left in it. There are two more open weeks ahead of it which means at least 150 crores more will comfortably come in with an outside chance of accumulating even 200 crores more before it ends its theatrical run. As a result, Dhurandhar – The Revenge will eventually find itself in that 1050-1100 crores and that too just in Hindi. On the other hand if one accounts for all languages then the film would be aiming for 1100 crores+ lifetime.

Only other film which is managing to do some sort of business is Hollywood’s Project Hail Mary. Released on Thursday, the film had an extended 8 day week of around 25 crores. The film saw a restricted release for itself due to Dhurandhar – The Revenge but will now benefit from two more weeks ahead before Bhooth Bangla arrives. That will ensure a lifetime of around 50 crores since the film has been appreciated by the class audience who are frequenting high end theatres at major urban centres.
