Has Sapna Pabbi gone missing after she was summoned for questioning by the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) in the Bollywood-drugs nexus?Apparently the young actress is reported “missing” from her home in Mumbai.
Sapna’s career trajectory follows a path very smiliar to Rhea Chakraborty. Similar in personality the two pretty actresses made their Bollywood debut at the same time. Despite the looks and talent neither Rhea nor Sapna made much headway with their respective careers. Interestingly both the actresses were mentored by Mahesh Bhatt ,at least for a while.
Rhea worked in the Bhatts’ Jalebi while Sapna started her career with the Bhatts’ Khamoshiyan. Both the films sank without trace. Neither of the two aspiring actresses could make any headway after this. Sapna’s strongest chance at stardom was the Anil Kapoor produced series 24 where she played Kapoor’s daughter.
I remember Anil Kapoor praising Sapna for her talent and professionalism, “She’s going to take the industry by storm,” he predicted. Anil was wrong. His screen daughter could make no headway in Bollywood. His real daughter did.
A filmmaker who knows both Rhea and Sapna observes, “They’re quite similar,really in many ways. Both are misfits in the movie industry and I suspect Sapna has gone back to her home in England for good.”
