The Chennai City Police operation arrested actress Anju Krishna, together with seven other people, during their drug trafficking crackdown in Valasaravakkam on Thursday. The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) conducted the operation after it received reliable information about drug trafficking activities in the region.

The police apprehended Vigneshwaran at Nesapakkam, who identified Venkatesh Kumar as his supplier of drugs. The authorities established a decoy operation in Valasaravakkam after receiving information about Anju Krishna and her partners, who were operating a vehicle.

The police operation resulted in the discovery of substantial drug quantities, which included 6 grams of methamphetamine and 15 grams of cannabis, one LSD stamp and an assortment of drug paraphernalia that contained a smoking bong. The seizure shows how synthetic drugs have become a major problem for distribution networks in the city.

Police officials apprehended six suspects, including Anju Krishna, a 30-year-old actress; Vincy Nivetha, a 26-year-old assistant director from Tamil cinema; and Karthik Raja, Yashwanth, Sriram, Alvibinsha, Vigneshwaran, and Venkatesh Kumar. The eight suspects appeared before a magistrate who ordered them to stay in judicial custody until the investigation continues.

The ANIU continues its investigation to discover the origins of the drugs while identifying the distribution networks that distribute these drugs. The arrest represents another achievement for Chennai Police, which continues to fight against drug abuse and drug trafficking activities throughout the city.
