Aditi Rao Hydari did what very few celebs can do with her second appearance at this year’s 78th Cannes Film Festival, proudly flaunting her Indianness to the world. Leaving behind the glamour of the red carpet this time, Aditi opted for a look with sindoor, red saree and traditional jewellery that fans called ‘the most beautiful and heartwarming Cannes look’ ever.

Aditi wore a classic Mashru silk red saree by Raw Mango with a light blue border. She paired it with a sleeveless blouse, bold neckpiece and statement earrings. But what makes this look the most special is the deep red sindoor in her maang and the glittering bindi on her forehead, a traditional touch that goes straight to the heart.

Sharing the pictures of this look on her Instagram, Aditi wrote “I Cannes ❤️”

Then there was a flood of praises on social media.

This look was a complete contrast to her red carpet gown of the previous day, where she wore a sparkling ombre gown by Rahul Mishra, which was inspired by the light of the stars. But this time the look was more of feeling than fashion, and it made a special place in the hearts of the fans.

Aditi’s personal life gives another depth to this sindoor look. She married actor Siddharth last year in traditional rituals at the Sri Ranganayakaswamy Temple in Telangana. At that time Aditi wore a royal lehenga by Sabyasachi and Siddharth accompanied her in a silk kurta and hand-woven dhoti.

While glamour often trumps tradition on the Cannes red carpet, Aditi proved that culture never goes out of fashion.
