Despite Rajesh Sharma denying insect-bite claims a week ago at the set of Prabhas’ highly anticipated upcoming film Fauji, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has submitted a formal appeal to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, demanding a high-level inquiry.
On September 16, 2026, AICWA raised concerns, highlighting that the association has taken Rajesh Sharma’s health emergency seriously, saying, “The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has taken the health emergency involving veteran actor Rajesh Sharma extremely seriously. This was not a minor incident. His condition reportedly became extremely serious during the period of the Fauji shoot, raising serious questions about safety, medical assistance and the decisions taken at that time.”
The statement, further demanding a high-level probe, says, “After actress Sudipa Chatterjee shared information about the incident, AICWA contacted several persons in Hyderabad and West Bengal and other industry sources to ascertain the circumstances. Considering the seriousness of the matter, AICWA had demanded an immediate, high-level, impartial and transparent inquiry from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Reddy.”
Sharing its concerns, the association demanded answers to questions listed below: “AICWA continues to demand clear answers: If Rajesh Sharma’s condition was so serious that he required hospitalization, why was he not immediately admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad or nearby? Why was he taken from Hyderabad to West Bengal? What medical arrangements were made during this transfer?
If his condition was critical, any delay or failure in providing appropriate medical care could have had extremely serious consequences, including a risk to his life.”
The statement continued, “AICWA therefore demands that the role of the producer and production house of “Fauji” be thoroughly examined. If the investigation establishes negligence, failure to provide timely medical assistance or violation of mandatory safety protocols, strict legal action must be taken against the producer, production house and every person found responsible.
AICWA also seeks clarity on why information shared by Sudipa Chatterjee was subsequently removed from social media and whether any pressure was involved.”
Taking the matter seriously, the association said, “AICWA will not remain silent when the safety and lives of artists and workers are at stake.
The Indian film industry must end the culture where accidents and serious incidents on shooting sets are allegedly suppressed, and workers are discouraged or pressured from speaking about them. No producer, production house, star or film is above the safety and life of a human being.”
Lastly, the association expressed relief upon hearing that Rajesh is now in better health and said, “AICWA is pleased to learn that Rajesh Sharma is now completely well and wishes him continued good health.”
