Recent reports state that Akshay Kumar will join the cast of Golmaal 5 and portray the film’s primary antagonist. Multiple reliable sources from the entertainment industry have confirmed that he will battle the OG Golmaal cast. But now, we have fresh reports that say he has not joined the cast of Golmaal 5.
The production team plans to begin filming at Film City in Mumbai in late February 2026, aiming to release the film in theatres in early 2027. The release date of this film coincides with the franchise’s 20th anniversary, which will create additional excitement among fans.
The film is expected to reunite most of the original cast, including Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Shreyas Talpade, with rumours suggesting Sharman Joshi may also return. Golmaal 5 will begin developing new creative paths by adding fantasy elements to its traditional prank-based comedy, as per reports. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty’s team took to Instagram to dispel all speculation that the film was a remake of Do Aur Do Paanch.
Akshay Kumar Has Not Joined The Cast Of Golmaal 5
Vickey Lalwani took to his official Instagram handle and wrote, “Akshay Kumar has NOT joined the cast of Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5 as the lead antagonist, setting up an action-comedy showdown against Ajay Devgn and Co. Many sections of the media got excited a few days ago when someone tipped them off wrongly in this connection. It will be important to underline here that Akshay doesn’t even have a cameo in the film in question. A few days ago, the Golmaal 5 team came out in loud denial that their film was being wrongly speculated as an inspiration from Do Aur Do Paanch. But there has been no denial whatsoever on the Akshay presence bit. Guess positive blitzkriegs are never disliked. FYI, Rohit Shetty did not revert to this piece when asked to comment. Just a wild thought: Did Shetty toy to cast Akki but Devgn was not on the same page?”
