A day after reports of a fallout between Priyadarshan and Firoz Nadiadwala over Hera Pheri 3, the director has announced his next project with Akshay Kumar, which will be produced by Tips Films.
Like Bhoot Bangla, this upcoming film will also feature an ensemble cast. Producer Ramesh Taurani revealed that the project will be a comedy thriller and will be produced in collaboration with Akshay Puri.
“It’s going to be an ensemble cast and will be in the space of comedy thriller. We will be producing it with Akshay Puri,” Taurani said.
Akshay Kumar has recently been enjoying a strong run with back-to-back box office successes, including Bhoot Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle. The actor has also supported producers by adjusting his remuneration structure and coming on board as an investor, helping improve the film’s economics.
Praising the actor’s professionalism, Taurani said, “Akshay is a good actor, a very bankable star. He is clean in his dealings, and we have a great equation with him.”
He further added, “We have struck a good deal with Akshay. He understands the market and the economics, and accordingly comes on board.”
The upcoming film will mark Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s ninth collaboration. Their other project, Haiwaan, has already been completed and is awaiting release.
