Despite the big budget, grand-scale marketing, and backing from YRF, the first female-led spy action film Alpha failed to gain attention among viewers, which is affecting its box office numbers. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the action film couldn’t even touch the 50 crore milestone in its first seven days, which itself shows that the film is the weakest in the YRF’s Spy Universe.
On its day 7 (First Thursday), the action-thriller witnessed a further decline in collections, earning 2.60 crore net, a slight drop from day 6’s 2.85 crore. The film, which also stars Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in key roles, received mostly negative reviews from the critics, while many found it fine. However, there is no buzz among the audience either, further weakening the interest of those who have not yet watched it.
Alpha Day-wise Net Box Office Collection
Day 1 (First Friday): 9.25 crore
Day 2 (First Saturday): 11.50 crore
Day 3 (First Sunday): 13.25 crore
Day 4 (First Monday): 3.85 crore
Day 5 (First Tuesday): 4.25 crore
Day 6 (First Wednesday): 2.85 crore
Day 7 (First Thursday): 2.60 crore
Total Net India Collection: 47.55 crore
-Total Gross India Collection: 56.66 crore
-Overseas Gross Collection: On day 7, the spy action film earned 1.25 crore in overseas markets, taking the gross total over 22.55 crore.
-Total Worldwide Gross Collection: 79.21 crore
Verdict
Alpha continues to see a decline at the box office and shows no signs of improvement, turning into a major disappointment given its big budget and higher expectations.
