Hayden’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the news of the actress’s demise with a statement: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”

He also asked for privacy in this time of grief, “as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

Beginning her career as a child star, Hayden had a long career in both TV and films. She is especially remembered for her roles in hit series Heroes and musical drama Nashville.
