Actress Anne Heche was hospitalized on Saturday after an accident in which her car collided with a house and fire sprang out, according to a representative. “Anne’s status is stable right now. In this difficult phase, her family and friends ask for your support and prayers and your respect for her privacy, according to a statement from Heather Duffy Boylston, Heche’s friend, and podcast co-host.

Just before 11 a.m. on Friday, Heche’s speeding car entered a T-shaped intersection in the Mar Vista neighbourhood of Los Angeles’ west side, ran off the road, and collided with a house, according to Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the car stopped inside the two-story house and ignited a fire that took almost 60 firemen more than an hour to put out.

There were no additional reported injuries, and no one has been taken into custody. Police detectives are looking into it. On television news footage, a blue Mini Cooper Clubman that had been severely damaged and burned was being dragged from the house. A woman struggled to sit on a stretcher as firefighters tried to get her into an ambulance.
