Batwara 1947, the Sunny Deol starrer, opened on a decent note at the box office and on its first Sunday (Day 3) witnessed a declining trend, struggling even to surpass the 30 crore milestone despite being the first weekend. Due to tough competition from the 2007 cult classic’s sequel, Awarapan 2, the partition-era film is struggling to win audiences’ hearts.

On day 3, the film saw a 48.3 percent drop, earning 7.25 crore net across 7239 shows with just 22 percent occupancy. The film earned its highest single day on its first Saturday (Day 2). In the overseas market, the film recorded 2 crore gross on Day 3.
