As per the latest reports in IndiaTimes.com, the movie ‘Bell Bottom’ has been banned in three Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. Reports suggest that the second half of the movie shows the hijackers taking the aircraft to Dubai from Lahore. However, according to the real incident in 1984, United Arab Emirates Defence Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum personally got involved and handled the situation. Later on, UAE authorities marked their victory by nabbing the hijackers. The report states that the Censor Board in the Middle Eastern countries must have found this alleged ‘tampering’ as a major objection and henceforth chosen to ban it.
