A really sad news is coming in for all fans and admirers of filmmaker Saim Sadiq. We all have earlier heard about his critically-acclaimed movie ‘Joyland’. The movie had managed to create quite an amount of positive buzz among cine-lovers. The positive appreciation and buzz was so strong that it became Pakistan’s official entry for Oscars 2023. However, there’s a sad update coming right now ladies and gentlemen.

As per the latest media reports in Hindustan Times, the Pakistan authorities have now banned filmmaker Saim Sadiq’s critically-acclaimed film ‘Joyland’ after alleging that it contains objectionable matter. For the unversed, Joyland was granted the certificate for screening by the government on August 17. However, objections were recently raised over its contents. The protests and concerns led to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting banning the film apparently to avoid a backlash by conservative elements of the country.
