Those who have seen Cobalt Blue are wondering why director Sachin Kundalkar’s name has been taken out by Netflix from the film’s credits.
The truth, if sources are to be believed, is rather unsavoury. Kundalkar was asked to step away from the project after its completion when one of the crew members accused him of improper conduct.Netflix has set up a committee to investigate the charges.
The reports are yet to be submitted.
In the meanwhile Cobalt Blue’s release was repeatedly postponed . Finally it began streaming last week without the director’s name in the credits or his association in any way with the project.
Apparently the director of such films as the Marathi Gandha and Happy Journey(in Marathi) and Aiyya(Hindi) has denied the allegation.
When I contacted Netflix, I was told they cannot comment on this.
