As per Sacnilk, on Day 1, the film collected a strong net of Rs 102.55 crore across 21,728 shows in India. Including paid previews, the total net collection has reached Rs 145.5 crore. The gross collection currently stands at Rs 172.63 crore, indicating strong demand from audiences.
According to data by The Indian Express, the film has also made a massive impact worldwide. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge collected around Rs 236 crore globally on its first day itself. This makes it one of the biggest global openings for a Hindi film.
The film had already created buzz during its paid previews on March 18, where it earned Rs 43 crore after shows began post 5 PM. This early response clearly hinted at the opening the film would take on its official release day, March 19.
With these numbers, Dhurandhar 2 has broken the Day 1 collection record set by Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan. It is now the highest-opening Hindi film ever. Interestingly, it has also become the only A-rated Indian film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark on its opening day, which is a big achievement.
The powerful performance by Ranveer Singh, combined with Aditya Dhar’s direction and the film’s action-packed storyline, has clearly worked in its favour. The response from fans has been overwhelming, both in India and overseas.
Looking at the opening-day numbers, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is expected to have a strong weekend and may continue to break records in the coming days. If this trend continues, the film could soon enter the Rs 300 crore club within just a few days.
Overall, Dhurandhar 2 has started its box office journey on a historic note, setting a new benchmark for Bollywood films.
