Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has finally broken the silence on the long-delayed, much-awaited third edition of the hit franchise Don. The filmmaker stated that the film still holds significance for him, while his last directorial stint was on Don 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.

And for quite some time, Don 3 has been in the headlines with different narratives and developments about the upcoming project. However, with the most recent update, Ranveer Singh, who was roped in for the film, exited from the project.

Amidst that, Farhan didn’t spill any details but broke the silence on what he learned from the Don 3 mess. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, when asked what he learned as Don 3 got messy, Farhan said, “What I have learned is I mean, just to expect the unexpected.”

Further, the filmmaker added, “Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it in film.” At the same time, there are many speculations about the film being scrapped. Farhan denied these claims despite the delays and setbacks.

As Farhan completed 25 years in the film industry this year, he pointed out that he was lucky when stars like Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia, and Riteish Deshmukh said yes to work with him on his first film, Dil Chahta Hai, in 2001.

Farhan concluded with, “You realize at some point there’ll be a period that would come that would be a bit challenging. You’ve had it good. It’s okay, just take it in your stride.”
