In the month of July, around 49 celebrities, including the likes of Aparna Sen, Anurag Kashyap, Konkona Sen and many more, had written an open letter to PM Modi citing concerns of religious intolerance in the country that was leading to a rise in the number of mob lynching cases.

This letter was followed by a counter letter which had 61 signatures of eminent personalities including the likes of Madhur Bhandarkar, Prasoon Joshi, Kangana Ranaut and many more.

And now the latest information is that an FIR has been lodged against Aparna Sen and 48 other celebrities who had written to PM Modi about mob lynchings. A case of sedition and public nuisance has also been filed against them in a Bihar court by petitioner Sudhir Kumar Ojha following which Chief Judicial Magistrate Surya Kant Tiwari has accepted his petition and an FIR has been lodged against the celebrities that includes the likes of Mani Ratnam, Shyam Benegal, Aparna Sen and others.

Well, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds and whether there’s actually any further action taken ahead or not. For more such updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com.
