A shocking piece of news surfaces today: The managing director of Seven Arts International, G P Vijayakuma, has filed a complaint against the film producer, Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, in the Madras High Court after the producer announced his plans to produce Hera Pheri 3.

As per the managing director’s claims, filmmaker Firoz doesn’t have the rights because he holds them, and even questioned whether the sequel production can continue without his permission.

The news left fans confused, and now a major update comes in the same matter. According to reports by Bollywood Hungama, filmmaker Firoz A. Nadiadwallah has taken legal action. He filed a complaint with the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai on April 27, 2026, registering an FIR for cheating and copyright infringement.

The reports further suggest that the FIR filed lists three specific offenses that violate sections 318(4), 356, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023. Names like Gopala Pillai Vijayakumar and M Paul Michael (Lal) have been accused in this case, as the police officers revealed.

The reports also suggest that, in his complaint, Firoz cited that his claims are supported by a strong documentary trail, including assignment agreements, financial records, and documents relating to the copyright and other rights of the Hera Pheri franchise.

Not just that, these documents highlight that Mr. Firoz A. Nadiadwallah is the permanent exclusive owner of all copyrights and associated rights for the franchise Hera Pheri. And now, the truth will prevail only after the legal investigation.
