The South film industry is booming with hits, so much so that Bollywood is getting inspired by the kind of content being made in the regional circuits. The languages of Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu have seen sensational concepts, with amazing storytelling. Times have gone when a Bollywood lover will only place his loyalties on the Hindi films. The layman is today inspired and motivated to watch the regional films with their subtitles made available. Also, the manner in which Bollywood looks at the spreading success of the South content has paved new avenues for remakes!!

It is to be seen if the South cinema’s exemplary execution can be brought about in Hindi, with all the remakes having the same kind of success. The recent Nani starrer Telugu hit Jersey, has not worked at all in Hindi. But these are still early days, as Bollywood bankrolls on a lot of ideas and ambitions of converting hits from South to Hindi.

Today, we give you the list of movies that can be expected soon.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (Telugu): This action drama starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde is being remade in Hindi as Shehzada. The film has Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan as leads. The film is being directed by Rohit Dhawan.

Anniyan (Tamil): Starring Vikram and Sadha, this Tamil psychological action thriller is being remade in Hindi. As per reports, Ranveer Singh will team up with director S Shankar for the yet-untitled film.

Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malayalam): This Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon film directed by Sachy is being made with John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor as per reports.

Drishyam 2 (Malayalam): This Mohanlal thriller film by Jeetu Joseph has already been made in Hindi in its first edition. Starring Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran, the team of Hindi’s Drishyam is shooting for the second edition of the Hindi remake.

Driving License (Malayalam): This Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer comedy-drama film directed by Lal Jr will be made in Hindi. The shoot of Selfiee has started with Emraan Hashmi and Akshay Kumar playing the lead roles. The movie is being directed by Raj Mehta.

Helen (Malayalam): This story of a girl’s survival amid all odds is being made in Hindi. Titled Mili, the film will have Janhvi Kapoor and Manoj Pahwa in lead roles.

Hridayam (Malayalam): This coming-of-age romantic film had Mohanlal’s son Pranav Mohanlal in the lead. As per reports, Karan Johar has acquired the rights to remake this film in Hindi.

Kaithi (Tamil): This action thriller will have Ajay Devgn and Tabu taking over in the Hindi version. Titled Bholaa, the film has been announced and is presently on floor.

Soorarai Pottru (Tamil): This splendid action drama of Suriya is being remade in Hindi, with Akshay Kumar being in the lead. The Hindi remake will be helmed by Sudha Kongara Prasad who directed the original.

The Great Indian Kitchen (Malayalam): Sanya Malhotra will tread the path traced by actress Nimisha Sajayan in the South version. This comedy-drama in Malayalam received great acclaim. The rights to the movie as per reports have been bagged by Harman Baweja and Vicky Bahri.

Vikram Vedha (Tamil): This Madhavan-Vijay Sethupathi neo-noir action thriller is being made by the director duo Pushkar-Gayathri in Hindi. Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan will play the leads in this Hindi version.

Oher films that will come in the near future include Master (Tamil) with Salman Khan, HIT: The First Case (Telugu) with Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, Naandhi (Telugu) with Ajay Devgn, Comali (Tamil) with Arjun Kapoor, Maanagaram (Tamil) with Vikrant Massey, Ratsasan (Tamil) with Akshay Kumar, Dhruvangal Pathinaaru (Tamil) with Varun Dhawan and Parineeti Chopra, U-Turn (Kannada) with Alaya F.
