Gautami Kapoor said that for almost two and a half years, Ram Kapoor was at home while she went out to work every day. This change slowly began to affect their relationship.
She shared that their relationship went through an emotional gap when their work lives were unbalanced.
During that time, Gautami Kapoor had long workdays, often lasting 9 to 11 hours. By the time she returned home, she was extremely tired and would go straight to sleep. There was hardly any time left to talk, and communication between them slowly diminished. Over time, the closeness they once shared began to fade.
Gautami Kapoor also spoke about Ram Kapoor’s emotional state during that phase. She admitted that she did not fully understand what he was going through back then. She explained that men are often expected to be the main earners, and when that role changes, it can affect their confidence and sense of self.
According to Gautami Kapoor, Ram Kapoor felt uneasy and unsure during that period. Seeing his wife work while he stayed at home was not easy for him, even though they supported each other. He was waiting for the right opportunity to come his way so he could feel confident again.
She made it clear that this phase was not about anger or blame, but about emotional distance. While Gautami Kapoor was busy handling work and daily responsibilities, Ram Kapoor was dealing with self-doubt and frustration. They were living together, but emotionally they were not connected.
Looking back, Gautami Kapoor said this phase taught her how important communication is in a marriage. She realised later how deeply the situation had affected Ram Kapoor.
Eventually, Ram Kapoor got a good opportunity and made a strong comeback, which helped restore balance to their life.
Gautami Kapoor’s experience shows that ups and downs are a part of life, but emotional pain can stay if it is not talked about. A marriage, she believes, is about supporting each other, especially when one partner is going through a weak phase.
