In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz journalist Sweta Gupta, the actor reflected on years of struggle, moments of self-doubt, and the opportunity that completely transformed his life.
Ramandeep revealed that after spending years trying to make a mark in Mumbai without much success, he had reached a breaking point. Feeling disappointed by the lack of opportunities, he packed his bags and returned to his hometown, Chandigarh, believing it was time to let go of his acting dream. However, fate had other plans.
Just four days after returning home, Ramandeep received a call for an audition for Raakh. Without wasting any time, he traveled back to Mumbai, determined to give the opportunity everything he had. Looking back, he described it as one of the biggest turning points of his career.
Speaking about the audition process, Ramandeep shared that it was far from ordinary. He spent an entire day performing the same dialogue over and over during the mock audition, with each take helping him understand the character better.
The actor admitted that portraying Rajjo was one of the most demanding experiences of his career. The emotionally heavy and intense scenes often left him mentally exhausted, requiring him to disconnect from the character once the cameras stopped rolling.
One of the most touching moments for Ramandeep came after the project was released. He shared that his sister became emotional after watching his performance, a reaction that meant more to him than any award. He also expressed gratitude for the appreciation he received from filmmaker Faizal Ali and his fellow cast members, saying their encouragement gave him confidence that all the years of struggle had finally paid off.
Reflecting on his journey, Ramandeep Yadav said Raakh has not only given him recognition but has also changed his outlook towards his career. From almost giving up on his dreams to delivering one of his most acclaimed performances, the actor’s story stands as a reminder that perseverance and patience can eventually lead to the breakthrough every artist hopes for.
