Preeti Jhangiani is one of those gorgeous and talented divas of the Indian entertainment industry who managed to send shockwaves right from the word ‘go’. The diva had a phenomenal run in the industry with movies like Thammudu, Mohabbatein, Waah! Tera Kya Kehna, Awara Paagal Deewan and more. However, soon, much to the surprise of the audience, she wasn’t seen in movies as actively as she would have liked to. When asking the reason behind what could have been the reason behind that during an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, the actress was quoted as saying,

“Well, I don’t know to be very honest. I guess I wasn’t much of a go-getter that way. I was blessed with a good family and background. I didn’t have to worry about things which outsiders generally have to, eg, rent, living expenses etc. I was born in an affluent family living in Bandra, Mumbai and in that way, I have been quite blessed. After modelling, acting offers came my way and I decided to just go with the flow. That’s how things worked out for me. So technically, I won’t say I am unhappy with my career. As an outsider, I am glad with whatever work I have done with some amazing actors and reputed banners. But yes, maybe I was not very good at socializing. Had I been someone who approached people for work quite often, things might have been a little different.”

When asked further about whether she believes ‘camps’ exist in Bollywood or not between different star groups, the actor chipped in by saying,

“Well, one can’t say anything like that specifically. But yes, it is quite natural that people like to work with individuals with whom they share a good relationship and have a fair amount of understanding. One might call it favouritism but I guess it exists everywhere right? I don’t think that’s really wrong. So, I don’t know about camps as such but people in our industry do like to work with their favourites again and again.”

On many occasions, actresses have earlier come out openly saying about how they get replaced in films by other actors or bigger stars without prior intimation. When asked about whether anything like that happened with her or not, she concluded by saying,

“Yes, it did happen once. I was removed from a big film without even being informed. I got to know about it in an unexpected manner from where I wasn’t really expecting. Yes, initially it might have felt a little bad but I have moved on. I am someone who looks forward to the future and I like to stay positive that way. It was for me too trivial a thing to be bothered about for too long. Now, I have some lovely productions happening soon. My business is also working nicely touchwood. I like to remain in the present and focus on how I can improve the future. Let’s see how it works. Fingers crossed.”

We wish Preeti all the very best for her future endeavours. Let us know your views in the comments below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
