Ahmed Khan gets into a candid chat with IWMBuzz on success of Welcome to The Jungle and more:

How was the experience working on the project?

I’m very grateful to all the cast, especially Akshay Kumar. They were together all the time. Anything can happen when you have such a massive cast. But all stood together and wanted this film to happen. All the people I have cast are busy actors. They removed time from that and came together. So, without the support of the cast and Firoz Nadiadwala, this film wouldn’t have been possible.

Were you offered to direct Hera Pheri 3?

It’s a team: Firoz Bhai, Akshay Kumar and all. I haven’t been offered to direct Hera Pheri 3, but I’m there with him on the project.

What’s next with Akshay Kumar?

Currently, he’s in London on a holiday. I have also taken a few days off since the film has just been released. We’ll reassemble soon.

Is there a heist film, a comedy or another Welcome film?

Yes. But we won’t do another Welcome film immediately.

You’re making a zombie movie with Tiger Shroff, is it?

Yes. We’re in the process of writing it. It’s not a comedy. There’s a plan with Sajid Bhai (Nadiadwala) to launch my son Azaan.

Was Shah Rukh Khan supposed to launch you as a director?

It was long time ago I said this in an interview. Shah Rukh was making Main Hoon Naa. So, at that time, he had said that he’ll launch me and Farah Khan. I had a script for Shah Rukh back then. But it didn’t happen. But of course, I wish to work with him.

Working with Shah Rukh Khan as a choreographer?

We did the most important song of my and his career, Chaand Taare Tod Laaoon from Yes Boss. That’s a manifestation song. I did Pardes with him and quite a lot of work with him.

Was Yeh Dil Deewana from Pardes shot on your way back to the airport?

We shot the song over two days. And some portion on the way back to the airport.
