Deepika Padukone is one of the most admired and loved actresses and performing artistes in the Hindi entertainment industry. The diva has been a part of the entertainment industry for quite many years and with every passing year, she’s only gotten bigger and better as a performing artiste to slay in every way possible and for real. Right from the time she made her debut in 2007, things have been wonderful and hunky-dory for her in every way possible and we truly love it, don’t we? Not just in B-Town ladies and gentlemen, Deepika is someone who’s made her presence in Hollywood as well with the project XXX: Return Of Xander Cage. But hey folks? Why has she not been a part of International projects after that? Has racism been a reason behind that decision of hers?

Well, as per reports in NDTV Movies, during an interview with Business Of Fashion, Deepika was quoted as saying,

“I’ve had my fans ask me why I’ve not done more [global] movies. But that’s not what I’m settling for, because I am — and we are — so much more than that. It would upset me every time I went to the US. Some of the things that are said and some of the things that are done just [make it] so obvious that people don’t know the world outside of the world that they live in.”

Deepika Padukone further added,

“I know this actor… I met him at this Vanity Fair party, and he said ‘Hey by the way, you speak English really well.’ I didn’t even realise what that meant. And when I came back I said, ‘What do you mean you speak English really well?’ Did he have this notion that we don’t speak English?”
