If you’ve been simply dying to watch the newest version of Joker, that perennially-intriguing arch-enemy of Batman, here’s some great news for you! Joker is set to release in India two days earlier, on 2nd October, instead of its original release date of 4th October. It is anybody’s guess why the release date has been brought forward. 2nd October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti in India, and it is an official national holiday in the country. So naturally, it makes eminent sense to cash in on the holiday and release the movie then. The only thing is that Joker will have to compete with two big ticket movies that have also marked Gandhiji’s birth anniversary as their release dates – the much-awaited Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff starrer, War; and the Telugu magnum opus, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.

Joker is also a highly anticipated movie, and fans of the superhero genre are just waiting to catch it on the big screen. The movie promises a spectacle like no other!

Warner Bros. India announced the new date of the Joker release on its official Twitter account this afternoon. This version of Joker has been directed by Todd Phillips of  The Hangover trilogy fame, and stars maverick actor Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. It also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Jolie Chan in pivotal roles.

Joker has been receiving rave reviews by critics and the media alike. It has already won the Best Film Award at the 2019 Venice International Film Festival.

The sheer excitement around the movie has reached a crescendo and we’re sure the movie will sweep the box office once it releases!
