Police arrested Mayur Patel, who works as a Kannada film actor and previously appeared on Bigg Boss, after he crashed his vehicle into multiple cars while driving under the influence on Old Airport Road. The police arrested Mayur Patel after he crashed his Toyota Fortuner while driving at high speed through Domlur at 10:00 PM. Patel crashed into a stopped car at a traffic light, which led to a crash that damaged four vehicles, including two Swift Dzires and a government vehicle.
Police officers performed a breathalyser test at the scene, which showed that Patel was drunk. The accident caused no deaths or major injuries, but it resulted in severe damage to the vehicles involved. The Halasuru Traffic Police Station received an FIR after one of the car owners who suffered damage filed a complaint.
The authorities confiscated Patel’s vehicle for investigation, which showed that the Fortuner had no insurance coverage at the time of the accident.
Patel faces various offences that include drunk driving, hazardous driving behaviour, and dangerous driving offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
The actor established his career through movies like Mani, Gunna, and Pepe, but he became famous after appearing in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 2. A video that became popular on social media shows Patel at the accident site telling onlookers, “I will fix whatever damage is done.”
This incident increases existing worries about road safety and the responsibility of celebrities in Bengaluru, which has seen a rise in drunk-driving crashes during the past few months.
