With Vikas Bahl’s Shaitaan proving to be bigger at the boxoffice than expected , and the film growing with every show every day, we are likely to see another clash between Karan Johar and Ajay Devgan next week.
By the time Karan Johar’s Yodha directed by Pushkar Ojha & Sagar Ambre ,opens next Friday, Shaitaan would have consolidated its position even further.
For Karan getting the number of theatres Yodha requires, would be difficult as exhibitors would be loath to take down Shaitaan for Yodha when the former is expected to be doing swimmingly well in its second week.
This would lead to an inevitable takkar between Devgan who is also a co-producer on Shaitaan, and Karan Johar’s Yodha which was hoping for a clean window next Friday.
The last time Johar and Devgan clashed was in Diwali 2017.Both Karan Johar and Ajay Devgan had Diwali releases lined up.Karan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was already in trouble because of Pakistan’ s Fawad Khan’s presence in the cast . Devgan’s Shivaay got a clear edge in 2017 Diwali…and to drive in the point of his assumed morally higher ground Mr Devgan also dropped the shocker that his wife Kajol and Karan Johar were no longer close friends.That left Mr Devgan and Shivaay smelling like roses during Diwali 2017.
However,Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil did much better business in 2017 than Ajay Devgan’s Shivaay.
