“Fully dedicated” is how a source close to Kabir Khan’s biopic Chandu Champion describes Kartik Aaryan’s performance as paralympics champion Murlikant Petkar.
While director Kabir Khan is not allowed to speak on his leading man’s performance a source close to the project reveals, “Kartik has gone beyond anything Kabir had expected. Earlier Kabir has worked extensively with Salman Khan who is not very good at taking directorial instructions.Kartik, on the other hand, listens very carefully to what the director says. Since Chandu Champion is a biopic on a real-life hero, it was absolutely imperative that Kartik remained within the parameters of the character. This, he has done throughout.”
The Chandu Champion team is now looking at a possible National award for Kartik Aaryan for his performance.
“Why not? Kartik has lived every moment of Murlikant Petkar struggle as a paralympic. It is a performance that will be talked about in the years to come.Why must the National awards not be given to popular performances?” asks the source.
