TV and film actor Lalit Parimoo is known for his appearance in projects like Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Agent Vinod, Remix, CID Haider, and others. In a recent interview, he opened up, sharing his opinion on Agent Vinod’s commercial failure. He reasoned that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s interference affected the film’s success.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan during his podcast show, the host said that they expected Agent Vinod to be a big film, so he asked what he thinks was the reason the film didn’t work and was not successful commercially at the box office. Upon this, actor Lalit Parimoo, who appeared in the role of a professor in the film, reasoned that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s interference affected the film’s success.
He said, “I feel the deep reason was too much of interference from the stars—Saif and Kareena.” Lalit further added, “The way Sriram Raghvan wished to make the film, he couldn’t; at every step, it was like ‘do this, do that, put this and put that because of which it became a material like hoch poch.”
Adding to his statement, Lalit also shared that the film was longer than it was needed. And overall, whoever the writing and direction team was, they couldn’t present their imaginations properly. And they couldn’t present their imaginations is the only flaw.
The actor also emphasized that a film is a director’s medium, and if the director has a vision, one should go with his vision. And if the director is casting someone and the actor is suggesting something, if the suggestion is good, then only keep it, but if things are happening due to stardom, then it won’t work.
