Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic character, Major Ram, could be returning to the big screen as a sequel to the 2004 blockbuster Main Hoon Na, which is reportedly in active development at Red Chillies Entertainment.

The screenplay is currently being developed by director Farah Khan and screenwriter Aakash Kaushik, with SRK working with them to develop the main plot. The superstar is expected to hear the final narration around May 2026 right after completing work on his upcoming action thriller King. The final decision on whether to greenlight the project will be made after his assessment.

The sequel will feature Khan in two roles, creating an exciting experience for fans of the popular franchise. The film is being designed as a patriotic action-comedy that preserves the essence of the original while introducing a fresh threat to India. The original cast might return, according to rumours, but specific information about their return remains confidential.

Khan’s commitment to the project appears strong—Farah Khan has publicly stated she will only return to the director’s chair if SRK leads the film. Production could start by late 2026 if they receive project approval.

The original Main Hoon Na was a massive success, combining action, romance, comedy, and patriotism to create a film that connected with audiences across age groups. Major Ram’s character became the embodiment of attractive, dedicated, and heroic qualities, making his return to the screen highly anticipated by his dedicated fans.

Apart from that Shah Rukh Khan’s KING is all set to hit the theatres this year, on December 24th, 2026.
