February 7th, 2020 saw two Hindi movie releases in the form of Malang and Shikara. While Malang happens to be a fictional story with big stars to boast, the likes of Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapur & Kunal Kemmu, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Shikara is a realistic story of how the Kashmiri Pundits were eradicated from the valley during the riots of 1990. Unlike Malang, Shikara doesn’t have big stars and instead has two newcomers in the form of Aadil Khan & Sadia.
While Malang opened up to great numbers during the weekend, the collections being
Friday – 6.71 cr
Saturday – 8.89 cr
Sunday – 9.76 cr
Total – 25.36 cr (India)
Shikara’s box office figures come to
Friday – 1.20 cr
Saturday – 1.85 cr
Sunday – 1.90 cr
Total – 4.95 cr (India)
