Janhvi Kapoor is all set to play the lead in the Hindi remake of the 2019 survival story Helen about a bright endearing young girl, the apple of her father’s eye, who gets accidentally locked in the freezer of a mall .
The original film in Malayalam directed by Mathukutty Xavier was a big hit. It is now being remade into Hindi with Janhvi Kapoor playing Helen. Anna Ben who played the lead in the original Malayalam film was hugely applauded. Veteran actor Lal who played the other all-important role of Helen’s father was also lauded for his performance.
The role of the father in the Hindi remake has now gone to the versatile Manoj Pahwa.
Apparently director Mathukutty Xavier did consider Janhvi’s real-life father Boney(who produces the Hindi remake of Helen) to play her father in the film. But discarded the idea as being too gimmicky.
