Mrunal Thakur is currently winning hearts with the release of her recent film Dacoit. Amidst that, in a recent interview, the actress opened up about the failure of her film Son of Sardaar 2, sharing that her trust was shaken after seeing the final cut. Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer Son Of Sardaar 2 failed at the box office, disappointing not only fans but the makers as well.

In a recent interview, Mrunal spoke about her past film, Son of Sardaar, in which she played Rabia Akhtar. She highlighted that her trust was shaken when she was paired opposite a senior actor as her husband (Chunky Pandey). She said, “I didn’t know, like, a very senior actor is going to play my husband. Because that just changes my… this is not what I expected from the movie. So, there I failed because there was a little bit of trust that was shaken. But you know what, I don’t have regrets.”

Not just that, but Mrunal also revealed that her major scenes were cut from the film, which led the audience not to connect with her character. She shares that she shot scenes with Roshini Walia, who played Saba, and that Mrunal’s character was Saba’s stepmother, but these scenes were cut. Sharing about the scene that could have moved the viewers, Mrunal said, “I did not know two important scenes of mine would be edited on the table. Like, there’s this beautiful scene with Roshni and inte. She’s actually my sister’s child, and my sister dies in the movie-it’s just a narrative. And I give up my personal life for her betterment. She says, ‘It’s better I don’t have a mother, I have you. And I pray that every girl gets a mother like you, even if you’ve not given birth to me. But the way you’ve taken care… that narrative was missing.”

Despite this, Mrunal shared that the Son of Sardaar 2 team is like family to her, and she has nothing but love for everyone.
