Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan passed away on September 24 at the age of 56 after battling cancer. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after complaining of stomach pain, following which doctors diagnosed him with cancer. His health reportedly deteriorated in the last few days. Khan was still working before his hospitalisation and was shooting for a film featuring Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera’s son.
Rajpal Yadav Remembers His Final Meeting With Mushtaq Khan
Rajpal Yadav, who shared a close bond with Mushtaq Khan, was among those who paid an emotional tribute to the late actor. Rajpal revealed that he visited Mushtaq at the hospital just hours before his death.
Recalling their final interaction, Rajpal said that Mushtaq opened his eyes, saw him and shook his hand while listening and reacting to their conversation. Rajpal said he still could not believe that the person he had met and held hands with just two hours earlier was no longer alive. He remembered Mushtaq as a popular actor and said that he would always remain a part of Indian cinema.
Son Mohsin Remembers His Father
Mushtaq Khan’s son Mohsin also spoke about his father’s final days, revealing that the family initially did not realise how serious his condition had become. He said Mushtaq had complained of stomach pain and doctors later discovered cancer.
Mohsin remembered his father as someone who continued working and hoped to return to shooting after recovering. He also urged people to remember and celebrate Mushtaq through his work, saying that his memories and performances would continue to remain with audiences.
A Career Spanning Over Four Decades
Mushtaq Khan began his film career with Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai in 1980 and went on to appear in several popular films, including Aashiqui, Hera Pheri, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Welcome, Wanted, Stree and Gadar 2. His memorable supporting and comic roles made him a familiar face in Hindi cinema across generations.
His passing marks the loss of a veteran performer whose work continues to live on through the films and characters audiences remember him for.
