Yami Gautam-starrer horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli made an impressive box-office debut despite stiff competition. On Day 1, the film earned a decent 3.25 crore net in India. The first-day collection plays a crucial role in the film’s fate.

Directed by Balaji Mohan, who marks his debut in Hindi films, the film earned decent figures across 6,281 shows at 11 percent occupancy, with day 1 footfalls of 155,011.

The film received negative to decent reviews, which is reflected in the collections. However, the fantasy film in India grossed 3.83 crore. Overseas, the film made a decent start, earning 75 lakh gross and pushing the worldwide gross to 4.58 crore.

Made on a budget of 30 to 50 crore, the recovery looks difficult given its slow start and mixed reactions from the critics and viewers alike. Only strong word of mouth can change the film’s fate now. The film still has a chance as the weekend is ahead.

Nayyi Navelli, released on October 16, 2026, is produced by Aanand L. Rai’s Color Yellow Productions alongside Amazon MGM Studios. The fantasy film also packs themes of folklore and mythology, with Adinath Kothare, Sushmita Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht, Suneel Sinha, Sunita Rajwar, Prateek Pachori, Babita Pandey, and Sonal Jha in supporting roles.
