South Cinema popular director Balaji Mohan recently admitted to secretly tying the knot with star actress Dhanya Balakrishnan. Balaji Mohan is known for his films like Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu. The news broke out after the director sued Telugu actress Kalpika Ganesh for defamation as she claimed in an interview that the duo was secretly married. However, until Balaji Mohan corroborated the charges, Balaji and Dhanya kept things secret.

Kalpika’s claims suggest that Balaji is controlling his wife, and he won’t let her perform or promote the Telugu film she has already worked in. While Balaji Mohan petitioned the Madras High Court in reply to her complaint. “I have directed films like How I Fall in Love, Maari and Maari 2. I got married to Dhanya Balakrishna, who has acted in films like 7 aam Arivu and Raja Rani, on January 23 last,” the petition says.

As per news18, the petition also reveals that Kalpika, a web series creator, shared videos on YouTube to defame Balaji, revealing his marriage and personal life details. At the same time, the court restrained Kalpika for slandering him publicly. Judge Senthilkumar Ramamurthy issued a prohibition on Kalpika from making any further slandering statements about Balaji Mohan and Dhanya Balakrishnan. In addition, the Judge of the Madras High Court assigned a notice to the defendant.

On the work front, Balaji will next direct a Hindi film called Click Shankar. This movie will also mark his debut in the Bollywood world. The film is currently in the production stage, and the first poster was released in May of 2021.
